We couldn’t be happier for One Northerner Sharon Bautista on being recognized in Crain’s Chicago Business Tech 50 list. This esteemed list of individuals features the most influential and noteworthy tech leaders in Chicago, including CEOs and founders, connectors, investors and technologists.
“I am very proud to be working in technology in this city,” said Bautista. “Attention like the Tech 50 helps showcase the global reach of work being done in Chicago.”
Bautista joined One North in June 2015 as a senior strategist, where she’s applying more than 15 years of human-centered design and digital consulting knowledge to her work with professional services organizations.
Prior to joining One North, Bautista headed up user experience design and front-end development for Discover Card’s websites and has lead UXD activities for a multitude of leading B2C and B2B brands.
A Northwestern University alumna and current adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago in the Interactive Arts & Media department, Bautista has countless accolades under her belt in all areas of user experience (as you can see from her LinkedIn profile). But her true passion lies with learning about people and designing experiences that connect heart and mind.
This is evident in her work as an ambassador for the Chicago Ideas Week (CIW) Co-op and a volunteer with Chicago Cares, the city’s leading nonprofit service organization.
Bautista will be speaking at an upcoming event for ThinkChicago, a collaborative program run by some of the most prominent names in the city’s tech scene, including CIW, University of Illinois, World Business Chicago, 1871 and the Mayor’s Office.
In her spare time, Bautista is a co-organizer of the UX Book Club of Chicago. If you’re interested in joining this Meetup group, learn more here.
