Client Development Director

The Client Development Director is responsible for key sales pursuit activities within the business cycle, including pre-sales strategy, solutioning, contracting, and transition to delivery. The role is tightly coupled with our sales team, One North practitioners, and delivery leadership. We support customers ranging in size from regional-based organizations to Fortune 100.

Position Overview

The Client Development Director consults with multiple layers of a customer’s business to help identify, direct, and shape solutions. The primary functions and required skills are to qualify, conduct discovery, provide insights, and guide customers in driving impactful business solutions.

This role will ideally be based in the Chicagoland area, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities and Requisite Skills

• Support the One North sales team in qualifying inbound opportunities, identifying client needs and connecting them with the agency, and assessing our ability to win business

• Scope the solution by determining what practices/ capabilities should be involved, how we should approach the solution, how much it will cost, etc.

• Determine how we can best position One North to win the work and lead the creation of supporting materials (decks/pitches/briefs/proposals/SOWs) needed to secure the client’s business

• Provide knowledge sharing of One North capabilities, value proposition, and case studies with sales and account management teams to support business development activities and customer consideration

• Demonstrate relevant experience, thought leadership, and an understanding of our expertise and methodologies throughout the sales cycle

• Engage One North practitioners and delivery at the appropriate stages to facilitate solution development and communication, ensure delivery excellence, and mitigate risk.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Transition new business to delivery, ensuring a proper handoff and engagement start and expectations alignment during initial work phases

• Track and manage individual sales pipeline details (e.g., stage, likelihood, target close date, etc.) that informs One North sales forecast and resource allocations

• Support delivery leads and account management at key accounts on account planning, thought leadership, and client growth and expansion opportunities

• Develop relationships with peers across TEK Global Services solutioning teams to facilitate complex cross-practice solutions for customers when required

Skills & Qualifications

• 10 or more years of experience selling or delivering agency services required

• 5 or more years in customer-facing roles

• Agency experience should include the delivery or selling of brand, content, creative, UX, CX, UI design, analytics, or website design/development services

• Preferred experience with a digital agency that delivers solutions through a variety of models; capacity teams or outcome-based commitments

Keys to Success:

• Must have outstanding communication, presentation, and writing skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the customer and One North

• Must have strong interpersonal communications acumen with the ability to build credibility, communicate capabilities, gather and assess requirements, and communicate solution and value proposition to customer leadership

• Must have strong organization and time management skills to effectively manage your opportunity pipeline including deal qualification, solution development, and contract creation

• Must be able to adapt approach in real time to match shifting demands of different situations

• Must build strong partnerships and work collaboratively to gain confidence and trust of others

We reserve the right to pay above or below the base salary range of $130,000-$200,000 based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.

Additional earnings may be available through incentive programs like annual bonuses, profit sharing, etc.
