Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

One North is seeking an experienced senior design systems designer with deep expertise in UX/UI for design systems and advanced proficiency with Figma.

This individual will thrive in a variety of work environments such as being embedded on client teams, consulting clients on system solutions through deep diagnostic analysis, supporting the development and evolution of client design systems, and participating in the creation of intelligent or AI-driven design systems.

As a member of our multi-disciplinary Design team, you will create and evolve scalable enterprise design systems that power product growth for our clients. Your expertise should be deep and wide, with the ability to flex your skills to support product teams, empower accessibility best practices, and bring systems thinking to a wide range of digital design projects.

This position can be based in the U.S. or Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation and evolution of enterprise-grade design systems that scale across products and platforms—including UI kits, documentation, governance models, and component libraries.
  • Build and maintain advanced Figma libraries using best practices for auto layout, variables, interactive components, and design tokens.
  • Leverage existing design systems to accelerate product design workflows, while identifying gaps and creating specialized libraries when needed.
  • Ensure Figma workspaces, files, and libraries are optimized, organized, and aligned with system architecture and brand standards.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure design system parity between design and code, and support implementation through documentation and collaboration.
  • Audit and refactor components to improve usability, accessibility, performance, and consistency across platforms.
  • Prototype and test new patterns or components before integrating them into the broader system.
  • Create clear, scalable documentation and onboarding materials to support system adoption across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, and research—to ensure the system meets evolving business and user needs.
  • Mentor and guide other designers, providing feedback and oversight to uphold design system quality and consistency.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in client-facing engagements, leading working sessions and presenting original work with clarity and confidence.
  • Advocate for design system thinking and contribute to scaling design operations across the organization.
When packing your bags, please bring:

  • Experience and knowledge around design system tools such as Zeroheight, Knapsack, Tokens Studio, Gradial
  • Interest and explorations around integrating AI into product and design system workflows
  • Understanding of design systems and their interconnectivity with engineering teams
  • Ability to adapt designs to various screen sizes and form factors

  • Passion for digital design and staying up to date on the latest tech and trends
  • Experience working in an Agile process
Your weapons (wield them wisely):
