New year, new opportunities for growth
Since we founded One North in 2012, strategic growth has been a goal we knew would be critical to provide opportunities for both our clients and our employees. Over the course of the last six years, we’ve diversified the industries we serve and the technologies we employ; we’ve added new talent and built new practices; and, most importantly, we’ve continued to push our clients with new ideas and strategies.
Today, we’re excited to share the next phase of our evolution, as we feel confident it will help us continue to grow in a way that will benefit our clients and our talented team that serves them. As of December 31, 2018, One North is now part of TEKsystems—specifically TEKsystems Global Services (TGS), its full-stack consulting arm and a leading provider of digital creative, UX and technology services in the U.S. TEKsystems addresses the pressing strategy, implementation and talent needs for more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500.
In its pursuit to discover a right-fit agency to join its ranks, TEKsystems searched across a myriad of agencies. Ultimately, One North stood out as a unique agency truly committed to the full spectrum of digital – from brand, strategy and design to technical implementation and maintenance.
As we learned more about TGS, we could see how well our cultures fit together. Both organizations are driven, thoughtful, client-focused and execution-oriented. We both like to think big and, ultimately, get things done for clients. Our combined expertise and expanded capabilities will allow us to deliver more for our clients, and it gives our people the opportunity to bring new ideas to the table.
It is hard not to get excited about future opportunities and innovative collaborations; however, we have no plans to make sweeping changes to the One North business model or our team. In fact, our name, team and location will stay the same. The management team will also remain in their current roles. We will continue to serve professional services markets, including legal, accounting, consulting, finance and AEC—but we hope to bring best practices, technologies and skillsets to bear from a broader set of industries.
2019 will be another exciting year for us. We’re energized about new possibilities, and bullish about how digital can help brands deliver value.

John Simpson is one of One North’s founders and serves as the Chief Executive Officer. For more than 20 years, John has been helping professional services marketers engage with their clients and grow their organizations through brand-based digital marketing experiences. He is a frequent author and speaker as it relates to relationship development, digital strategy and marketing innovation.
Favorite season: Summer. Summer makes everyone feel like a kid again.
Super power: Positivity. A psychology professor once told me that humans are predisposed to be positive. His logic was that the caveman faced so many challenges – sabre tooth tigers, starvation, cold weather, disease – that they had to be positive just to survive until the next day. I can’t say whether or not this theory has scientific merit, but it’s good enough for me!
Jeff Hirner is one of One North’s founders and serves as the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for running the day-to-day operations of One North’s projects and ensuring each client engagement is a success. A handler of all things green when it comes to One North, Jeff also admits to eating roughly 5-6 avocados a week.

Super power: I am a stealth whistler. I can whistle without any visible indication that I’m actually whistling.
