Elevating and unifying a brand

Established in 1890, with 650+ attorneys and 26 offices across the United States, Ireland and Mexico, Clark Hill is a law firm on the move and expanding quickly. As the firm takes its place on the AmLaw list, and having undertaken a handful of strategic mergers and acquisitions, Clark Hill needed a fresh brand look, message and position. There was a desire to elevate the corporate image, unite the firm’s ambitious professionals under one strong and cohesive brand, communicate the full scope of services and capabilities, showcase the geographic reach and drive demand with clients and prospective clients.

Modernizing the brand system

To amplify this new focus, the One North team developed a design expression to support the platform that was classic, elegant and intelligent–with an editorial air to it. All aspects of the brand were reimagined, from the color and logo to photography and fonts. The end product is a smart and modern looking brand system that the firm can use as a jumping off point for future growth.

Taking it all digital

In order to support the new brand, Clark Hill also undertook a replatform and redevelopment of their website. The One North team took the same approach to create a simple but compelling web experience. Working through the pandemic, the teams collaborated to migrate content and rethink the firm’s service structure to create a digital asset worthy of the vibrant firm and brand. All social media assets were refreshed as well. In addition, One North helped animate their logo and provide direction on attorney headshot reshoots.

The launch of the brand garnered praise from critical members of the firm, Clark Hill’s clients and, also, legal publications. The repositioning was successful in capturing the growth and expansion of the firm and ensuring future success. The website, which had a smooth and seamless launch, has provided a powerful experience for clients and potential clients.

Post-launch, Clark Hill has seen over 500,000 views of their brand video, produced in conjunction with a production team, and a more than 5900 percent increase in social growth over the last three years, from 80k to 4.8M.
