Pushing the PSO limits

For more than 15 years, Locke Lord—a premier, full-service Am Law 100 law firm that has earned a solid reputation for complex ‎litigation, regulatory and transactional work—has trusted One North to create and provide ongoing support for exceptional digital experiences. Most recently, the firm engaged One North to help modernize their website and create a more dynamic and engaging experience for their audiences.

The firm’s Chief Marketing Officer challenged our team to “push the limits” of the typical law firm site. We helped Locke Lord step outside of the PSO box. Their new site is flexible, provides their team more autonomy and is future-forward, ready to grow and evolve as the firm does.

Starting strategically

Beginning with digital strategy, the One North team performed a comparator analysis and site audit, and also conducted in-depth stakeholder interviews. We then used discovery insights to inform the design and overall experience strategy. Locke Lord was eager to create a look and feel that was sleek, bright and modern and encouraged One North to update everything from the color palette to the typography. As a result of the stakeholder interviews and subsequent workshops, the One North team also collaborated with the Locke Lord team on an update of the firm’s services structure.​

Intentional interactions

The creative team focused on movement, color and imagery to tell the firm’s story. To create a unique and modern feel to the site, One North’s design and front-end development teams worked in lockstep to infuse advanced animation throughout the site. The team reimagined the bio detail pages, threading in thoughtful microinteractions, and adding subtle movement to call-to-action imagery to capture the user’s attention. Introducing new colors, One North leveraged gradients to highlight the firm’s forward-focused design.

Next-level technology

Working closely with the strategy and design teams, One North technologists successfully mapped and migrated content from the firm’s prior Sitecore CMS to a more current version. Front-end and back-end teams worked in tandem to improve overall efficiency and limit rework. The resulting pages are modular, containing numerous shared components and functionality, which helps make the site flexible and easy to maintain going forward.

Delivering an engaging experience

The release of the new LockeLord.com not only showcases the firm’s vibrant culture and breadth of experience across practice areas, but it also pushes the envelope with web-based motion. The team delivered elegant and intentional microinteractions to support the overall web experience. Since launch, the Locke Lord team has received accolades for the engaging nature of the website and the intuitive, compelling user experience it provides.
